With Kankakee having a night off, John decided to run at Farmer City tonight. He started on the outside of row six for the second of two Street Stock heats. John jumps into eigth place right away. By lap two, he passed into seventh. Richard Peddycoart started smoking real bad in front of him and it made it really hard for John to see where he was going. A yellow came out on the third lap where he was fighting with Tom Price. As the white flag comes out, John passes Price for sixth. As they come back around the checkers, John just barely runs out of time as he was gaining on Jason Unzicker for fifth. For the feature, John started once again on the outside of row number six. He jumps into tenth place and starts working on Chris Tackett and Jason Unzicker. On lap two, John gets around Tackett into ninth place. One lap later, he passes Jeremiah Hoffman and takes eigth place. The caution comes out on that lap and Richard Peddycoart is forced to drop out of the race. John moves into seventh as Peddycoart was running in front of him. John starts working the low side on the restart and gets around Blake Shelley and moves into sixth. John starts to work on Jim Quinn when the caution flies on lap four. On the restart, he almost gets around Quinn, but one lap later the caution is out again. John contines to work on Quinn for the next three laps until yet another caution comes out. On the restart, John is not only battling Quinn for fifth, but he also has Shelly on his tail trying to take sixth. On the restart, John changes lines and goes to the middle groove. It looks to be working and he goes side-by-side with Quinn with five to go. As John's battling with Quinn, Shelly gets by on the highside and takes sixth away from John. Caution comes out on lap eleven which bunches the field back up. John loses one more spot before the race is over to Bret Lesser. The top three cars in the race were Hot Rod Bicknell, Ryan Unzicker, and Jim Quinn |

Racing action finally resumed at Kankakee tonight. John started on the outside of row three for the first heat. Right away, John gets into a fight with Darren Kohler for fifth place on lap one. John was in hot pursuit and with three laps to go, he closed the gap and was in striking distance. Going in to turn one with two to go, Matt Cleary pulls up lame and as he's trying to get off the track, John jumps ahead of Kohler. Since Cleary was also running in front of John, he actually gained two spots and finished the race in third behind Billy Wicker and Shannon Shutter. The feature show John lined up on the inside of the fourth row. Early in the race, John falls to seventh place behind Jay Hamilton. On the second lap, John dives low and goes around Jay for sixth place. Three laps later, John again goes low and takes the fifth position. Shannon Shutter would slip which would give John the opportunity to move to fourth place. Billy Wicker spins out ahead of John on lap seven bringing out the caution. Billy's misfortune puts John in third place where he'd finish the race behind Kevin Lenzen and Mike Cavanaugh. |

For the first time in three weeks, John gets back on the track at LaSalle for the Street Stock Spectacular sponsored by Mautino. Things started out good as John qualified fifth fastest with a time of 16.47. That time would lock him into the feature on the outside of the third row. On to heat race action where John didn't have to race his way into the feature, but that didn't stop him from racing hard. He started on the inside of row four right in front of Jay Hamilton. After the first lap, John had jumped into third place which he would for two laps. John then went under the 99 car of Jeff Busch to take second place. Hamilton followed right behind John and was running in third. On lap three, Hamilton got a run on John and snuck by into the second position dropping John back to where he started. As the field was coming to the white flag, the 127 of Matt Weibel spun out while leading the race. John and Jay both go around which puts John in the second slot as they crossed the stripe. John was supposed to start on the inside of row three for the big Street Stock Spectactular, but after a horrendous wreck involving Jay Hamilton and Mark Stanley on the first lap, John was bumped up to second row inside on the complete restart. After the third try to get the race going, John once again jumps into that third place spot and falls in line. John looks for a hole on the low side of the race track and is slowly working his way up when the 25 of Dan Filkowski spins out in front of him. John goes into second as the yellow comes out, but for some reason, the 25 machine of Filkowski gets his spot back and John's back in third for the restart. John once again starts working the low side on the restart and by the time the field comes back to the flagstand, John had taken the second spot away from Filkowski. The caution once again comes out two laps later with John sitting in second. On the restart, he starts out by blocking on the high side while he's getting his car read for another run at the leader. After another caution, John starts going low again and is slowly making up ground on leader Mark Larson. John starts to lose ground around lap six, but by lap nine, he's back with in a car length and working up. Another caution comes out on lap twelve and it would be the final of the race. John could never get a good run on Larson and he finishes second behind a very good driver in Mark Larson. John did hold off current LaSalle points leader Jeff Hamilton who finished third. |

In a quick damage report from Friday night, John badly damaged both the front and rear frame of the car. He will take it to Leznen's house on Monday and the two of them will get the car back in shape. Plans for this upcoming weekend are unknown right as Kankakee is taking the week off for the Dream. When something is decided upon, it will be posted on the schedule page. |

John's night started off in the trophy dash via a feature win last week. He was lined up outside last row right next to Jay Hamilton. In front of him was Billy Wicker and Mike Cavanaugh and on the inside was Matt Cleary and Chad Osterhoff. John falls in line on a very slick track and runs sixth until lap four where he passed Osterhoff on the outside. Later on the same lap, Matt Cleary spins out in front of him and John moves up to the fourth place spot where he would finish behind Cavanaugh, Hamilton, and Wicker. Heat race action saw John lined up on the outside of row number two behind Rick LaFine. John jumps in line behind LaFine where he would stay the entire race. Two cautions flew during the race on lap one and lap three, but John couldn't get a big enough jump off the restart. John finishes second in front of McCarty and Cleary. John is sitting pretty good in the feature line-up on the outside of row number three. John and Billy Wicker go at it side-by-side for two laps before Billy finally wrestles the fourth place spot away from John. Rick LaFine goes over the burm in turns one and two and that puts John in fourth place. He would eventually work up to third place where he'd stay until a late lap slip put him almost side ways in turns three and four. John was able to hang on and avoid contact, but the slip dropped him from third to eigth. As he was coming to the checker flag on the last lap, Jay Morris gave John a little nudge and it sent John into the wall on the front stretch hard. This time, John wasn't able to avoid contact as the cars piled up behind him and the parts started flying. Needless to say, John wasn't happy. Cooler heads eventually prevailed and a big incident was avoided, but not before a lot of damage was done to the 05 machine. He officially crossed the line in 10th place.
